Fellow Corner

Dr. Ekanki Bansal

(April 2024 to September 2024)
Sports Medicine Fellow
MBBS, MS Orthopaedics

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for my experience in the Sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship under Dr Prateek Kumar Gupta at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and A+ OSM Center.

The fellowship involved of extensive hands-on experience in both out-patient department and operating theatre settings. It provided a very comprehensive understanding of patient diagnosis and management – surgical as well as conservative. The OPD clinic was held at two different kind of set-ups, giving a good understanding of the management skills needed behind building a good reputed center. Exposure to a very large variety and majority of the sports injuries helped improve the diagnositic skills that I had lacked previously. The hands-on experience helped me build confidence to perform minor out-patient procedures, basic arthroscopic procedures of the knee and build strong foundation for shoulder arthroscopy.

The mentorship provided by him was invaluable and irreplaceable. He was exceptionally approachable, always provided a fostering environment where one felt comfortable asking and seeking guidance. His motivation for hard work and discipline set a strong example and encouraged me to strive for excellence and follow his footsteps. Moreover, the emphasis on innovation and research was particularly inspiring. Dr Prateek consistently challenged me to think creatively and push the boundaries of conventional practices, which greatly enhanced my learning experience. He not only guided me academically but also was available to discuss about professional/career choices.

This fellowship has significantly enriched my knowledge and skills in the field of arthroscopy, I am grateful for the support and guidance sir has provided and for gaining a mentor for life, very grateful!
