Key hole surgery for the shoulder is one of the most successful procedure of recent times. It gives the patients the comfort of least morbidity , short stay at hospital and early recovery for most common shoulder ailments.
Indication –Shoulder instability /recurrent shoulder dislocation R.C tear, Frozen shoulder, Loose body.
You will have a general anaesthetic, and will be asleep for the whole operation. The arthroscope is a telescope about as wide as a pen, connected to a television. The operation is called an arthroscopy.
The surgeon will insert the arthroscope through one or two tiny 5-6 mm cuts around your shoulder. He will use it to look at the inside of your shoulder and the tendons over the shoulder joint.

The cuts will be closed with stitches, clips, or paper tapes. You will be in hospital one night or so after the operation.
Your arm will be in a sling. The shoulder may be a little painful.You will be given injection or tablet to control the pain ,if pain is still worse then pain management team will give you a PCA Pump. 14 days after the operation. Stiches will come off after 48 hours the sutures has been removed.

Depending on your treatment you will be advised on the “after-care” program. A+OSM Center Doctor will also be a in contact for 3 months after the treatment if you have any questions.

Although going abroad for medical treatment is your choice and decision, I advise you to inform your G.P. of the proposed treatment. Your G.P. may also be a point of contact with the after-care in which you receive when returning to your home country.
